Early Childhood Educators Day.

This week Warrandyte Kindergarten has been celebrating our amazing educators for Early Childhood Educators Day.

Early childhood educators day recognises and celebrates the work of Australia’s educators in early learning services for their wonderful contribution to the wellbeing and healthy development of the young children in their care.

We wish to acknowledge our AMAZING educators: Kerry, Fiona, Amali, Padmini, Chai, Laura, Wei and Bronwyn. THANK YOU for everything you do for the children and families that attend Warrandyte Kindergarten and Extended Care.

This is the ‘Thank you tree’ some of our parents set up as a way for our kinder community to recognise their work; and show our thanks.

The dentist comes to Kinder

Last week we had a visit from Dentists, Claire and Michelle. They counted the children's teeth and checked for any decay. There was not a single piece of decay on any of the children's teeth, so well done to all our families for their excellent dental hygiene. This was a great experience for many kids who haven’t yet been to visit their local dentist.

Each child also received their very own toothbrush and age-appropriate toothpaste along with some handouts with helpful tips to keep their pearly whites in perfect condition.

Keep brushing and eating healthy foods!

Warrandyte Kinder in the News!

We're proud of the Extended Care program our Kinder offers, so it was a thrill to see the Warrandyte Diary find space to get the news out to our wider community.

Check out their latest edition here: https://warrandytediary.com.au/current-edition/

Want to know more about our Extended Care offering?

In 2023 our Extended Care program runs from 1.30 - 5, Monday to Thursday. This seamlessly extends the 4-year-old and 3-year-old 8.30-1.30 regular kinder sessions on these days.

Caregivers have the option to enroll their kids in a regular spot term by term, in which the fees per session are at a reduced rate. Alternatively, casual bookings can be made on an ad-hoc basis. Our online booking system makes this a straightforward, convenient option for busy parents.

Any enrolled child can access any Extended Care day service, regardless of whether they have been in the morning’s kinder session.

Check out our online booking system here. Booking for a set day on a term-by-term basis comes at a cheaper rate and will be invoiced at the beginning of the term.

Our New Playground is under way...

But first, we need to make way for our new masterpiece by clearing out the old.

Thanks to the team from Habitat Construction for their friendly faces at the Kinder, during the commencement of the pull-down phase.

We’re in a fortunate position to be able to reuse a lot of the elements from our much-loved old playground - watch this space to see how Habitat Construction has reinvented these pieces.

Here is a snap of day 1 of the pull-down…

2022 Warrandyte Kinder Fundraisers

We are so lucky to be part of a kindergarten that nurtures our children and values its community support so immensely. Fundraising forms an integral part in covering all expenses involved in running the kindergarten to enable our children to have an outstanding preschool education. These are a few of our popular fundraisers for 2022…

WILDLIFE XPOSURE - Term 2 Incursion

A visit from WILDLIFE XPOSURE

Xavier, from Wildlife XPosure, came to visit us in term 2.  He shared so much wonderful information with us, and was very attentive to both his animal’s needs, and our children’s comfort.

Xavier bought along the following animals for the Children to engage with and learn about:

  • ‘Polly’, a 4 year old RingTailed Possum

  • ‘Bilbil’ a beautiful Rainbow Lorikeet

  • ‘Alba’ a Barn Owl

  • ‘Stumpy’ a Shingle Back Lizard

  • ‘Leo’ the Frilled Necked Lizard

  • ‘Terrence’, a Murray River Turtle

  • ‘Greenie’, a Green Tree Frog

  • ‘Alby’ an albino Darwin Carpet Snake

  • ‘Ace’, an Olive Skinned Python

  • ‘Blondie’, a 4 year old Salt Water Crocodile

This was such a fantastic presentation, and the children (and adults!) were thoroughly engaged for the whole hour. We were proud to hear that so many children were sharing stories about this day with their parents and siblings at home. I hope we will see Xavier and his friends back here again at Kinder some time in the near future.
